Drexler-Automotive Formula Cup - Brno (CZE)

In two exciting races during the Masaryk Racing Days in Brno, the title decisions were made in the Drexler Formula Cup. In Formula 3, Sandro Zeller (Jo Zeller Racing) successfully defended his title. Benjamin Berta (Team Hoffmann Racing) also won the Formula 3 Open title. Both drivers fought it out between themselves for the day's overall victory. Sandro Zeller had taken pole position in qualifying for the first race on Saturday. After the start, Zeller took the lead ahead of Benjamin Berta, who was pressed by Vladimir Netusil (Effective Racing). Netusil, however, overdid it with his pace. While Sandro Zeller was able to pull away, Netusil slid into the gravel and dropped back to ninth place. Zeller won with a lead of 23.982 seconds ahead of Berta and Nicolas Szabo (Gender Racing Team). Netusil had started a catch-up in the second half of the race and caught David Richert (Franz Wöss Racing) with fourth position.

Drexler-Automotive Formula Cup - Automotodrom Brno (CZE)

After the summer break, the Drexler Formula Cup comes to Brno for its seventh round (September 09-11). The traditional circuit in the Czech Republic thus heralds the final autumn. The Masaryk Racing Days at the Motorcycle Grand Prix circuit have been an integral part of the Drexler Formula Cup calendar for years. Drexler Formula Cup - Hockenheim

After three years of abstinence, the Drexler Formula Cup presented itself with a great field at its 6th race weekend in Hockenheim. The two race days in Baden began on Friday with a sad situation for motorsport. During the free practice in the afternoon, a driver in a sports car went through the run-off zone in the hairpin due to health problems and had a fatal accident. As a result, all activities were terminated with an immediate stop. Thus, in the Drexler Formula Cup, the times of the free practice sessions were used for the starting grid, as qualifying was not run. For Thomas Amweg (Franz Wöss Racing) the race weekend was over on Friday due to a defect in the oil pump on the Dallara Mercedes. Very sad for the Aargauer, who had looked forward so much to the races in Hockenheim in Formula 3.

Drexler-Automotive Formula Cup - Hockenheim

Before the Drexler Formula Cup goes into its summer break, round 6 is on the agenda at Hockenheim. The Grand Prix circuit in Baden was the venue for the last time in 2018 for the Formula cars with Formula 3 and Formula Renault. "The drivers and teams are of course looking forward to Hockenheim, as we have not been guests at Hockenheim for three years. Formula 3 can look back on a great tradition here," says coordinator Franz Wöss. The Porsche Club Days (29-30 July) will provide the stage for the two sprint races in the Drexler Formula Cup. In addition, the fifth Formula 1 track in Europe will be raced this season. In Hockenheim, the cards will definitely be reshuffled. Thomas Amweg, the 2014 champion, is celebrating his comeback. The man from Aargau drives for the Franz Wöss Racing team and last competed in Formula 3 at the Salzburgring in 2020, where he achieved two podium finishes. "The entry came about very spontaneously and I'm looking forward to seeing everyone again," says Thomas Amweg, who incidentally became a father in March this year and is of course enjoying the great time with his family. He is far from rusty on the circuit and won the Historic Jim Clark Revival in April in the Ralt Formula 2. Before the weekend in Hockenheim, Thomas Amweg wants to go through a fitness programme so that he is well prepared to compete for the first time in the Franz Wöss Racing team.
